  • 1.  How to have someone fill out registration without being an attendee?

    Posted 10-22-2024 21:39

I couldn't figure out the best way to word my title. We used Cvent last year for the first time and as background, we host a trade show of about 125 attendees. We received over 300 applicants and our "registration" form through CVent is actually the event application which we then choose attendees from. Last year we ended up paying Cvent's "attendee" rates for each applicant but I recall there's a way where I can pay for just the attendees. If anyone is following my vague question, I'm looking for the means to distinguish all of those who fill out our "registration" application into those who are accepted and therefore "attendees" and then we can send an email to those who are not accepted to be vendors.  Please help me figure out how to separate the categories.

What about the approval process through Cvent, not sure if that counts toward your allotment of registrants but might be something to look into

Not sure if I understood the question correctly, but as a suggestion, could you create a separate registration type for those "attendees" that are ultimately accepted and then setup their reg settings where reg fee is $0 for that reg type.  Once accepted, you would switch reg types from what you have as a default.  Additionally, those that are not accepted would fall under a "vendor" reg type where a reg fee would be listed.    Hope this helps!

You can set registration to manually approve these applicants (Setup Registration Approval). As you "reject" folks, for lack of a better term, you can manually unregister each rejected registrant OR you can do it in bulk. This will remove them from your attendee count. Once they are unregistered you can send them an email that informs them of the situation and next step to complete your other registration path for vendors.
