Introducing custom widgets in the Attendee Hub website!

Happy mid-week all! Let's kickstart with our next edition of the Tip of the Week discussion!

Your event website when made interactive can keep your audience engaged during all the stages of your event. If you're an Attendee Hub user, we have exciting news! Early this year we introduced a new feature - 'Custom Widgets' to our Attendee Hub Website. Using Custom Widgets, you can add third-party interactive or accessibility features to your sessions on the Attendee Website.

In today's discussion, I have easy tips to help you get started with managing custom widgets on your Attendee Hub website.

    • Access the Attendee Website and App Builder: Begin by selecting your event. From the left-hand navigation, click Attendee Hub, then Website and App > Click Manage website and app
    • Add a Code Widget: Click Features > Select Session Content. Then you can scroll down to the Audience Engagement section and locate the Code Widgets card.
    • But remember, if this is your first time accessing this section, click Set up, then Create code widget. Otherwise, click Manage, then Create code widget.
    • Name your widget, then pick the icon that will appear on the session's engagement panel. The icon will appear in your theme's action color.
    • Assign a new code widget to sessions: Click Select sessions> In the session list that appears, check the box next to each session that should have this code widget > Click Done. Or, assign an existing code widget to sessions.
    • All sessions with code will display to session registrants on the Attendee Website. Need to remove the widget from a session? Click Manage sessions, uncheck the session you want to remove and then click the Update page. The widget and the associated code will be removed.
    • Embed code snippets: Click Add code > Add the embed code from your third-party provider > then again, Click Add Code. Repeat this step for each session you have assigned to the widget. When you're finished, click the Update page to make your custom widgets live on the Attendee Website.
    • The maximum recommended width is 480 pixels. If your iFrame is wider than 480 pixels, desktop viewers will need to scroll to see parts of your widget.
    • View your widget: If your Attendee Website is live, you can check how it will appear to attendees. If you haven't already, register for the session you've added a custom widget to. Then log in to the Attendee Website.
    • Click the calendar icon in the top-right corner, then select View your full schedule. Select your session, then open the custom widget.

    Question for you:

    • Have you used custom widgets in your Attendee Hub Website? If yes, how did this feature benefit you?
    • Any other tips you'd like to share to make your Attendee Hub website more interactive?
