  • 1.  Registration & Hotel Question

    Posted 09-02-2026 08:30

We use invitation lists to invite attendees to SKO. The import list includes all relevant contact information, etc. The registration path takes them through registration, book their hotel, etc. The event is held in Orlando and we have about 100 people that are either local to Orlando or do not want to book at the conference hotel (stay elsewhere, with family), etc. We don't know their plans until they go through registration and then send us an email saying they don't need a hotel, or they book a hotel and then are no-shows. Is it possible to have a a question at the beginning of registration asking them if they need a hotel, if they choose "no" then it removes the hotel page from their viewing? Or do I need to pull the FL people out and let them go down their own path? Not sure how to tackle this one?

Are you using the hotel request form?  We typically set that to optional and the registrant will select either that they want to request hotel accommodations or that they do not require (you can customize what those 'yes/no" answers appear as.   We then include an alternate hotel question that will come up for anyone that doesn't opt to fill out the form that asks for a reason why.  We usually include options such as "i live locally"  "I'm staying elsewhere" and "other" which allows them to type in something else.

Hi - you used to be able to do it this way, a few years ago, before Flex. You could put in a question for air and hotel requests. Do you want to book a hotel room? Yes, would open the hotel request form/page, No, would not and skip that page. I think it was called an Alternate question. But now, we just add the Hotel request widget and set it to Optional so it will show the yes/no question for if they need to book a hotel room.

Hi Denise - I use the hotel room widget that way - giving our attendees the option to select "No Hotel Required." I'm able to update the verbiage of the second button in the Language Management section of the event. Hope this helps!
