I have a required field in my registration process that asks registrants for their affiliation.  I use this information to design my name badges.  After running the recent report, I see that roughly half of my registrants do not have data in this field.  What might be going on?  Shouldn't the system prevent them from proceeding in the registration process without completing a required field?

Hi Jessica - a couple of things to check:

• It's possible to bypass required fields when registering someone on the backend of Cvent. Maybe someone has done that in this case?
• Or, sometimes if there's an issue with the registration type, they may not be shown the intended registration questions. In other words, check to see if you have any "No Registration Type" registrants vs. others registered as one of the registration types you have added to the site. One scenario when this happens is when people are given an incorrect link to register with and it's not applying a registration type at all.

Hello Jessica, 

If you created a choice or text question for affiliation, you will need to likewise add the 1) question code and/or 2) reporting information in the build section of the Site Designer (scroll toward the bottom).  Question code  can be used in question and answer data tags in emails.  The Reporting field is the question text that will be displayed in reports. You can enter an abbreviated version of the actual question to save space.  In your case, you can enter "Affiliation" in order to capture that data in your reports.  Hope this helps.
