Correct--you are receiving each email in the test to ensure that each look correct respectively. Additionally, this gives you an idea of what it would look like if someone has HTML email turned off and only wants to receive the text version. Most do not give the text version much review, but make sure that the paragraphs don't run together, the links are appearing in "()", etc. as this can make your text communication less effective.
