    Someone bought a ticket for my event, but wants to transfer it to someone else (change the associated name and email address). What's the best way to do this? Can I do it for them on the back end, without issuing a refund?

    Hi Marissa!

    Yes you can do this on the backend and it won't generate a refund, it essentially just changes the information on the invitee record but maintains the same payment information. From the attendee list, if you click on the down arrow beside the registrant's name, there should be an option to "Substitute registrant", see below image:

    Once you click that, you'll be asked for the name/email of the substitution. We also have this article that goes over substitutions if you'd like to reference it!

    What happens once the substitute registrant is done? Does it just change the name and the email of the original registration and all the rest stays the same, or are they sent a link to register? We need the person to whom the registration is being transferred to complete the registration form with their own details and agree to terms, but it does not seem like this will happen using the substitute registrant feature.

    Hi Jennifer! 

    Substituting the registrant would just update the name and email associated to the registration - all other information, including answers to registration questions, would remain the same. The substituted registrant will receive a confirmation email of their substitution though, so you could include language in the registration confirmation email requesting registrants to double check the provided information and direct them to modify their registration to update information. If you're handling substitutions yourself on the backend, you could also create a new email to manual send to the substituted registrant directing them to update their information.
