  • 1.  Validating mobile numbers

    Posted 03-17-2025 16:31

When asking your registrants to provide their cell numbers in registration, I know you can at least require the input to be formatted like a phone number -- but has anyone found a way to validate the input to ensure it's their actual cell number and not 555-123-4567 or a landline? Is there a service that can send a validation message to numbers that are submitted? We're really struggling with that part of things. TIA for any ideas!

    Hi Amy,

Cvent does not have a built-in feature to validate whether a number is a true mobile number or to send an automatic validation message. However, you can integrate third-party services like Twilio or Truecaller to verify phone numbers by sending an OTP (One-Time Password) or checking if the number belongs to a mobile carrier. If you're looking for a manual approach, you can export the registration data and use a phone validation service to filter out landlines and invalid numbers.
