  • 1.  Add to Calendar URL data tag

I'm adding the URL data tag for add to calendar in a confirmation email.  When I test the email, and click add to calendar, it opens a blank page in my browser (whether the browser is opened or not). Weird?  yes.  I understand it's connecting to the website - but having it appear as a download at the bottom of a blank webpage is not the most user friendly.  Anyone figured out a workaround?  I can't load an .ics file (iCvent doesn't accept the format) as a document and link to it.

    Hi Heather,

I confirmed with our technology team, and your reasoning is correct - since email clients don't have functionality to download external files, the file needs to open the browser to be downloaded. If no browser is open, it'll open a blank page and download the file to open in their calendar/email application.

    Best,
