Happy Monday to all the lovely members! In this week's Huddle of the Week discussion, we want to talk about how recent trends have proven the industry's adaptability and resilience.

We have been through so much during the pandemic together and have come out stronger. Many of us completely pivoted to virtual or have successfully gone hybrid. This shows our agility both as an industry together and as individual event professionals. Organizations embraced the benefits of event technology within weeks, which would otherwise have taken years. Hardly anyone could have foreseen such a swift and heavy dependence on event technology before the pandemic.

    So, tell us about –
    • Which Cvent's event technology do you think has brought a revolution in the industry?
    • Share some trends in event technology that you feel have led to the industry's quick transformation.
    • Where do you think hygiene and safety will stand in an in-person or hybrid event experience in 2022?

    • Which Cvent's event technology do you think has brought a revolution in the industry? The on demand badge printing with real time editing has been a big game changer for us.
    • Share some trends in event technology that you feel have led to the industry's quick transformation. Online registration, QR code/bar code scanning, mobile apps that enable people to not only interact in real-time with event organizers but with other attendees
    • Where do you think hygiene and safety will stand in an in-person or hybrid event experience in 2022? Barcode/QR code scanning for check-in we're finding is becoming imperative for event check-in

    • Where do you think hygiene and safety will stand in an in-person or hybrid event experience in 2022? I feel the industry is still working on that but the touchless check-in will be important.

      • Partnering with ID.me is a great addition to the tool to continue to provide options to get events back in person.
    • Share some trends in event technology that you feel have led to the industry's quick transformation.
      • The ability for venues to work with existing space to accommodate groups, the use of Social Tables to accommodate this as well is a great tool.
    • Where do you think hygiene and safety will stand in an in-person or hybrid event experience in 2022?
      • I think it's here to stay, I know we will always offer options for sanitizer and space for all our events. But also looking to incorporate more tech to keep things touch free i.e mobile app, OnArrival etc.

    • Which Cvent's event technology do you think has brought a revolution in the industry? For me the different integrations with other systems is a great added value. On Arrival and touch less badgeting is also a way of making events more sustainable and COVID safe.
    • Share some trends in event technology that you feel have led to the industry's quick transformation. All mobile and digital options facilitating quick access to content. QR codes
    • Where do you think hygiene and safety will stand in an in-person or hybrid event experience in 2022? Not yet there but touch less will definitively will have to come not only for hygiene but also to go "green" avoiding printing and being more sustainable

Much of Cvent's technology is revolutionary, and I appreciate that Cvent is constantly re-evaluating its technology and improving it. Flex was a huge improvement. Of course, digital check-in, QR codes... all a game changer for in-person events.

      digital check-in, QR codes, beacons

Hopefully, we are all more aware of the need to simply wash our hands! Increased cleaning of surface areas is huge, and as an attendee, it makes me feel safer in the space.
