  • 1.  Collecting professional designations/credentials in Cvent and integrating into CrowdCompass

    Do you collect professional designations (credentials) during registration and do so by NOT using a custom question? We currently use a custom question to collect but wondering if there is a way to collect this info. in a Cvent standard field that we can then map to integrate into CrowdCompass. We need the registered symbol to appear, i.e. - APMA®, CFP®, ChFC®. Currently we have to export this info from Cvent and then edit and upload to another field in CrowdCompass. Wanting to streamline the process.

    Hi Georgia,

    Cvent does have a Standard Contact Field "Designation" that you could utilize during registration and this could seamlessly sync over to CrowdCompass. You also could consider creating a Custom Contact Field at the Admin level of your account if you need any additional information. In order for the information to sync over to CrowdCompass, it must be a contact field rather than a Registration Question.

    Thanks to all who have replied. Generally, our registrants have a selection of 20 designations listed on a the profile form via the custom question as well as an open text box where they can add more. How do you collect designations without asking a custom question? How do your attendees select their designations when they register? Where do you build the drop down menu?

    Hi Georgia,

    I'd highly suggest creating custom contact FIELDS instead of questions, which you can house on the highest level of admin and have for all events. You can also even add advanced logic to ensure the correct attendees are getting the right designation by using whatever criteria you choose!

    I agree, a custom contact field is the best way to go, with finite and specific options to choose from. If your contacts have multiple professional designations, you may want to do separate fields (designation 1, designation 2) or create "select all that apply" the following: Choice - Multiple Answers (Multi-Select Box) - Allows selecting more than one answer by clicking while holding CTRL on the keyboard.
