Transfering registration to another event

Is it possible to transfer a registration from one event to another?  We have run into a situation in that one of our upcoming events will now be combined with another event later in the year. I would like to take those already registered and move them over to the other event instead of having to make them register again.  Is this possible to do? TIA

This is something we would love to do as well.
We have small regular training events and people often hop from one to the other, having to manually transfer by 1. registering them for the new event and 2. cancelling their registration from the initial event is not super practical.
Hoping to hear some better practices or workarounds.
    Thanks!

Would importing the registrations in bulk from the first event to the second event work?

Probably would as long as you double check the session names. Not sure when there are fees charged though.

Required File Format: Tab-Delimited (.txt) or Microsoft Excel (.xls or .xlsx)

Required Fields: First Name, Last Name, Admission Item, Email Address or Source ID

    Maximum records per file: 500

The first row of the file should contain the column names. Each of the other rows should contain values for a specific Registration.

Thank you for the suggestion Jayne.  I will try that.  It would be so nice if they could make this easier.  I was a legacy user of RegOnline who Cvent bought and it was so easy to transfer from one event to another.  Usually it was because of the registrant registered for the wrong event but with COVID we are having to do a lot of shifting.

    Hi Jennifer,

Not sure if this is possible with your scenario but could you keep your registrants in the existing event and simply rename the event to the new event name that's scheduled later in the year?  You will then update all your dates (registration deadline, start/end times) for the new event as well as update any admission item and session names, etc.

    Hope that works.

Thank you for the suggestion Sarah.  In this particular situation we are combining two existing events so that wont work.  We have an upcoming event we are cancelling due to the rise in Covid numbers but decided to combine them with an existing future event that is closer to the end of the year.  So I already have registrations in both events.  However that is still a good suggestion I will remember for next time.

I understand.  We all seem to be pivoting and adapting to the ever changing circumstances.  Our numbers were climbing here, too, and have reverted back to ZOOM meetings/webinars versus hybrid events.

Maybe your Account Manager can assist you with this one.  Hope there's a solution out there for you.

I am in need of this feature and hope Cvent will add it soon. We always do quarterly events with the same people and it's such a hassle to re-register them every 3 months.

I'm not sure if I can see Cvent incorporating this unless they can figure out a way to charge you another transaction fee for the transfer. Otherwise, implementing this will cause them to lose revenue (in transactions).

I, on the other hand, am all for it.
