  • 1.  Abstract management - asking about flexible presenters

    Posted 05-14-2020 12:49
I am putting out my call for proposals to present at a conference months from now. ( February) However, I want to build a very responsive conference, and be ready to pivot to virtual or hybrid if needed.

Has anyone added some wording to their Call for proposals that says "Hey would you mind presenting virtually just in case?" Trying to find the best way to ask without scaring them away.

I have recently had to reach out to keynote speakers for virtual events.  I have had positive responses and no issues with a virtual request compared to a live event. Given the circumstances, I think this is very much understood and won't scare people away!  I actually think being pro-active and noting that in the event a live event cannot take place, you will move to virtual, may make a speaker feel more comfortable in signing a contract/agreeing to be part of an event.
