I am begging.....BEGGING.....Cvent to please implement auto-save in the Flex website designer. The time-out issues and sudden glitches that are a constant occurrence have been the bane of my existence for months.

I will be working away for 30+ minutes designing my site and feel really good about where things are at. And then all of a sudden - out of nowhere - I get an "Oops, something went wrong!" screen and lose ALL of my work. Additionally, If I have more than one Cvent window open (such as one to work in flex designer, and another to work on weblinks, speakers, etc), and the non-designer window times out without me knowing, it will not allow me to save my work in the design when I hit the save or publish button and I know I am about to lose all of my work. Other times, I will get a pop-up asking if I am still working (even when I have actively been working and am not idle) - I click "yes", and I STILL get automatically logged out less than 10 minutes later with no warning.

Every single other desktop program and website editor I work with implemented auto-save a long time ago, why is this not a feature? Remembering to manually save my work every 5 minutes is unrealistic and disruptive

It's gotten really bad lately for me.  Sometimes I'll be working in Flex, and it will time out after just a couple of minutes.  I'm compulsively hitting Save all the time now, and you're right, Erin.  Not productive.

I did find a previous request for this functionality but am hoping if we either re-submit it as an idea or upvote the original request - it can get moved up in the product enhancement list:

I also notice that when I go into different modules, like the web designer, into cross-event reports, or even into Appointments and work in those areas, the user session timer may not keep running and will not recognize that I am still working and that is why I get timed out and logged out.  Just a theory...

I can't agree more!  Happens to me ALL THE TIME!  I've raised it more than once over the past 18 months (and yes I went back and checked).  There are a number of threads going about the same topic.

I've noticed recently (and maybe it's only recently to me), that if another tab times out while I'm using the designer and go to either save or publish, I'll get an error in red that says I don't have permissions. Then there's no way to save what I've done, which is a bummer. I don't remember this happening before maybe a month ago or so.
