  • 1.  Weekly Product Release Notes - November 26, 2019

    Posted 11-26-2019 13:55

Who's ready for Thanksgiving? Before you head out of office for the holiday, make sure you're up-to-date on the latest product release notes! Today we've got updates on #Event(Flex), #SupplierNetwork, and Universal #LeadCapture.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Event Management

*New Flex Release* Allow Page Access by Weblink Only: You can now create pages that are only accessible through a weblink. This is a new setting available in the Site Designer for website pages. These pages won't be visible in the navigation panel.

Use case for this - Steven is designing an event website for his company's picnic. He wants to design a custom landing page for people who arrive at the event website through the company's website. He creates a custom page and weblink to that page then sets it so it is not visible in the normal site navigation, but is still active.

    Cvent Supplier Network (Planner)

Venues Not Interested in Receiving RFPs from the Supplier Network:
You'll now see "This venue chose not to receive RFPs" on any venue not interested in receiving RFPs from the Supplier Network. The venue will also be lowered in search results, unless searched for by name.

    Onsite Solutions - Universal LeadCapture

    Appointment Invitees Into Leads:
Now through Universal Appointments, lead gatherers can check-in and convert all appointment invitees into leads.

Standardized Country and State Code Fields:
Country and state contact fields now include standardized country and state code fields in Universal LeadCapture.

    Custom Field Support:
Universal LeadCapture Custom Field Support will help capture all fields from Experient-hosted events.

Suggestion: invert "Allow Page Access by Weblink Only" to a "Show in Site Navigation" toggle that is checked by default.

In addition to Web Links, you can also access these Pages via data tags in email, correct? Since the setting only affects visibility in Site Navigation widgets, it should be labelled accordingly. It could also arguably be moved into the navigation widget configuration itself since config is shared among all widget instances.

@Richard Carls, you're absolutely correct. As long as you add a Page Code within the settings of the page, you'll be able to add the Custom Page URL Data Tag into your emails even if the page is hidden in the main site navigation.

This is an awesome suggestion. I highly recommend you posting it on the Ideas page, which you can find in the Community top navigation. Submitting your idea here will ensure visibility with our Product Management team, as well as the opportunity for others to up-vote or comment on your great idea.

Feel free to post back here if you have any other questions!
