Well now I see what pre-populate is. It's something we used in Classic as well as Flex.
I don't want anyone to be able to change their first or last name.
First and last name is populated based on source id.
If someone can changes their name, they can register someone else.
EDIT: I had to scroll down further in site designer to find
Make identity fields read-only if registrant arrives from an email link
That did it. :)
But...
Clear wipes out first and last name.
If it's read only, I don't think it should wipe it out.
Hopefully I can remove the Clear Fields.

Subject: Pre-populate Registrant Data from External Source?
Hi Mary,
Yes, this feature can work with your Marketo integration. It is not necessarily set up through the actual email, but rather on the back-end of your registration settings. This is only available for Classic registration at this time, and can be configured within Website & Registration > Registration Settings > Identification & Security tab > External Source. This is also set to be released in Flex in the future.
If you have not utilized this feature with your integration in the past, I would suggest working with your Client Success Advisor to loop in an Integration Specialist and walk through any questions/changes you may have.
Best,
Danni

Hi Danni,
Would this be possible for First Name, Last Name, and Email when someone registers from a Marketo email? we have having trouble pre-populating these read only fields and have both the Marketo and Salesforce App integration.
Thanks,
Mary

Hi Steven,
This feature is used with many of our integrations, including out-of-the-box Salesforce, Marketo, and iMIS, and custom integrations, as well. This allows you to connect Cvent with your external system, and then use the data in your external system to pre-populate in the Cvent registration process. It can also be used in conjunction with a custom process to set up conditional logic that will assign Registration Types.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Best,
Danni

Thank you. I wasn't sure if it was part of an API process that we currently use.

We used it to pre-populate hotel dates for the registrants. Each person had hotel dates that were "highly-suggested" they choose (due to how much the client was paying for). We uploaded a spreadsheet with the data into the Internal Information section, then used the related tags in both the registration website and the invite email. It was a way for us to remind the attendee of the dates they were to select upon registration. I didn't know that it wasn't available, because that was something we did just last month. I had a customer service rep bend over backwards to make it work.

What is 'Pre-populate Registrant Data from External Source'?
Not available until Q2. Not sure if it's something we have been using in Classic.
