Agree with
@Steven Schlossman! Bring layers for underneath slacks (I bring thermals) as well as a sweater and an indoor jacket. Definitely bring flats for the walk from the sleeping rooms to the conference area. Although I'll be sporting some awesome heels, I'm saving my feet this year, so ballet flats for me from sleeping room to conf area, and then they can be slipped into my laptop bag or purse and I'll don the heels.
Set reminders for yourself in the
#CrowdCompass app for all your sessions as well as meals you don't want to miss. Networking is great until you realize the food and coffee was all taken away and you're hangry!
I recommend the free app CAMCARD to scan business cards. Quickly link to people on LinkedIn to grow your network.
Hope this helps!

First timer advice.
I'm just a two-timer. :)
Last year it took the hotel a couple days to get the temp right. First few days the breakout sessions were FREEZING. Be prepared.
Never been to MGM, but my first year at Mandalay Bay the conference center was a long walk from the hotel.
Breakout signage at hotels vary. The first day I get the lay of the land. As a planner I think most do.
I bring a power brick to keep my cell charged. These event sucks the life out of my battery.
There are usually charging stations scattered throughout.
I also use my own MiFi hotspot. WiFi in hotels tend to get bogged down until it is all sorted out.
