  • 1.  What type of meetings & event or hospitality technologies will be considered game changers?

Hello all, let's start the next Huddle of the Week discussion!

In the last ~2 years, there's no discussion that hasn't touched the terms 'pandemic' or 'new normal.' However, let's keep aside our thoughts around how we all have risen to the occasion, and talk about all exciting new opportunities that we see in the hospitality and meetings & events industry. You may be planning for 2022 and thinking of what technologies to focus on to have a successful year ahead. With that in mind:

    • What type of meetings & event or hospitality technologies will be considered game changers?
    • What type of technologies may be considered outdated?

Let us know your thoughts and expectations below! #HuddleoftheWeek #VoiceIt

    • What type of meetings & event or hospitality technologies will be considered game changers? There are so many virtual event platforms out there now, and many include registration components. I think those that integrate with the virtual tools we know so well could pose themselves as game-changers to the industry.
    • What type of technologies may be considered outdated? Survey tools as many platforms have these elements built-in through polling. Also standalone event apps.

    Hello,
I think Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be the powerhouse for registrations. Maybe not completely in a year, but I think we will see it used more and more each year. And with AI, the need to scan badges will go away. I don't think badges will go away, but the need to scan, I think, will eventually go away.

    • What type of meetings & event or hospitality technologies will be considered game changers? Facial recognition for check-in, mobile apps so less is passed around and risk of exposure
    • What type of technologies may be considered outdated? Badge scanning. RFID at this point should be able to track peoples movements and attendance at sessions
