Hi Ridhima,
We've enjoyed being able to make questions registrant-specific in the Flex registration. This allows us some customization without having to create a full path for each reg types.
We're not doing hybrid events, but going back in-person after having used the Attendee Hub is interesting, as we decided to keep using it + the Mobile App onsite instead of our previous app. So far so good, though as always when tech changes we've had some adaptation to work through.

Subject: Registration process best practices in the New Experience
Hello community members! The next edition of Tip of the Week is coming your way!
An attendee's event experience starts the moment they register for your event. Registration process strategy has therefore become the heart of meetings and events. It's how event professionals secure attendees and revenue. But how do you ensure to create a first impression that is seamless and user-friendly? We have gathered some registration best practices in the new experience that will help build and deliver an ideal registration process!
- Create an admission item: To register, every invitee must select one and only one admission item which is the ticket to your event. Remember if there are no open admission items, invitees cannot register. Hence, make sure if one does close early, another option is available. Also, establish a capacity to keep your headcount under control. Once the entered number is reached, no one else will be able to register for this admission item. However, once an invitee registers for an admission item, it can no longer be deleted.
- Add questions to a flex event: This feature helps in understanding the need and expectations before, during, or after the event with questions. Once added, your invitees can respond to the questions you want to be answered as they register or through a survey. Please note that invitees can modify their answers following registration by logging into the event website with their confirmation numbers.
- Add registration paths: You can use your registration types to further personalize the registration process by creating additional paths and customizing the content or payment options for each.
- Add and update fees: Cvent lets you add a fee to almost anything within your event: admission items, sessions, and other goods and services. It is possible to charge different amounts for the same item to different types of attendees. Make sure to enter specific details such as a deadline, discounted price, and a maximum refund for the discounted price. Worry not if you need to delete the fee and follow these steps to do so.
- Set-up refund policy: Make refunding automatic by setting up a refund policy. Once set up, there will be no need for you to individually refund anyone who modifies their registration or cancels. Volume discounts cannot be associated with session bundles in Flex events.
- Group and guest registration: Enabling group registration allows multiple invitees to register under the same transaction while allowing everyone to be their own registrant. Whereas guest registration records who your invitees are planning on bringing along, usually a spouse or child. Guests can be free or paid for by the individual registering them.
- Add a waitlist: Should your event close (due to reaching capacity or the registration deadline passing) and invitees still want to come, the Waitlist page will appear when they attempt to register. Take the time to customize this page to guarantee you're getting the data you need and providing the right instructions. You can also set up an alert to get notified every time someone signs up for the waitlist.
Questions for You:
- Which Cvent's feature has most helped you in ensuring a seamless registration process for your attendees?
- Do you keep the hybrid event registration process strategy different from a virtual event?
