Registration paths and registration types are two different features. registration path determines the invitee experience of registration, i.e., what questions the invitees will see, what items and other features available to them, what payment options are available to them etc.
Registration types determine which registration path the invitee will follow when registering.
The system will not allow you to select same registration type for multiple paths as when the invitee selects the registration type, the system will get confused as to which registration path to follow. For example : If I have two registration paths called A and B and I associate both the registration types to the two paths X and Y in my event. When the invitee registers and they select registration type A, the system will not be able to determine if the invitee should follow path X or path Y as the registration type A is associated to both the paths.
If you would like to switch the path basis how the invitee be paying for their booking, you can create the options as registration types and add the respective payment options in the different paths and associate the registration type to the paths like Credit Card type associated to credit card path, Check registration type associated to Check path, invoice registration type associated to invoice path etc. And when you add the registration type widget on the path for the invitees to select from, you can change the text of the widget to ask the question 'how would you like to pay for your booking?' and displaying the choices below. And then depending on the selection, the invitees will follow that path.

Hi,
I have come across this issue as well. It seems bizarre that the registration path is only changed dependant on the registration type.
In my scenario, I would like to have a registration path for credit/debit card only and a registration path for purchase order only. But for reporting purposes, it makes more sense to have one registration type across both pathways, i.e. Member, Non-member, etc.
It would be good if registration paths could be switched based off of a question answer, i.e. how would you like to pay for your booking?
Is there a workaround for this at all?
