General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
New Cookie Banner: Users visiting CSN guest pages from the EU or EAA and Switzerland will now see a cookie banner that complies with GDPR standards. Users from other regions like America and Asia will not see the cookie banner.
New Consent and Capturing Consent Checkbox: A consent checkbox was added to the CSN guest side pages that accept Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Users are required to agree to Cvent's terms of use and privacy policyin order to use the application and to allow Cvent to process the information they provided. The consent checkboxes were added to:
- CSN Guest RFP Form
- Native Proposal
- NSO Guest Pages
- Signup Page
- New Supplier Request Pages
- Submit Issue Popup
New Consent Checkbox for Marketing: Users visiting the Guest RFP Form from the EU or EAA and Switzerland will now see a consent checkbox that complies with GDPR standards. Users from other regions like America and Asia will not see the consent checkbox. This will be used by marketing to target users in EU who has consented to marketing from Cvent.
Search and Destroy Services: Users can now request to search their PII and have it forgotten. This would be done with the new Obfuscation Service to mask user data within Cvent.
Retargeting Cookie: We made changes to how users are tracked within CSN with Google Remarketing. The Google Remarketing script will only work if the user accepts the cookie banner.
IP Anonymization on Google Analytics: Because of GDPR we can no longer track users or store any personal information about them without their consent, so we had to change how Google Analytics stores IP addresses. Now IP addresses are anonymized.
Update to Venue Widget: The Venue Widget is now directing users to the new RFP Form, so we are capturing consent for new RFPs.
