Images for sessions?

  • 1.  Images for sessions?

In Classic Events, I was able to use HTML and/or the WYSIWYG editor to add images to Session Descriptions that would then display on the registration page. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this with flex - the WYSIWYG editor does not have an insert image button, and there is no HTML editor. Has anyone found a way around this?

    Hi Kelly,

Currently, in Flex, there is not a built in functionality to add images to an individual session. This has been something I have been asking for awhile. I hope to see this functionality as Cvent announced they are revamping Sessions functionality during Connect.

A short term fix I have is I added the image sideshow widget above the sessions widget and labelled each image. Not ideal, but it helps present a visual to the registrant.

I hope this information is helpful!

I miss that too. I use a session to sell tee shirts. It was nice having the image right there. Now I need to add the image to the bottom of the sessions page.

it isn't the best solution but I was able to workaround it but putting HTML image code under a custom data tag, and then putting that in the sessions.

I thought about a custom data tag. Thought it would display the source html.
I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Added: I like it. There is only a custom data tags in the admin section, correct?
I see custom email data tags. Be nice if custom data tags were at the event level also.

    Works very nicely. :)

Yes that's the place (in Admin)  I meant, I should have been specific.
Usually the email tags don't work on the front end pages but I haven't experimented with those in flex.

You can have CVENT give you access to the html, but then its an all or nothing, becoming a manual page basically.

@Sean Daniel I have html enabled. Thought it was a new feature everyone had. Like you said, it's all or nothing. I'm using an email data tag in the html code to allow me add preheader text. Just need to remember to add it back if I switch back.

This would have never occurred to me! It's a perfect workaround. I'm so glad I found this before I went and build the entire itinerary from scratch.

    Natalia,
What is really nice about this is previously I added the images to each of my 4 sessions pages. The placement was below the sessions. It looked awkward. Now I just need the tag in one place.

Ideally the description editor should have media enabled or let us edit the html source.

I have done the same thing with the custom data tags, but beware - they don't come over properly in Attendee Hub.

    Hi None,
Do all custom data tags not come over properly to Attendee Hub or just these? We haven't used AH yet and I use a lot of custom data tags. Thanks.

It seems that, at least at this time, custom data tags don't work at all in Attendee Hub. There is a work-arounds, though, if you're trying to get the sponsor logos on a session. You can use the exhibitor sessions:
