Has anyone else recently received several multi-property RFPs that seem fishy?

Misspellings in email addresses, lack of capitalization, attachments with links to get to meeting specs, wildly inflated revenue?

At least one of them my sales manager said that Cvent told her it was removed because it violated the TOS. It would be easy to disregard them, but we also use Amadeus Advanced and MeetingBroker, so each instance of the RFP needs a response. Just curious to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar.

We have been getting A LOT of these SPAM leads.   can you tell me what CVENT is doing to make it so they don't come through?   It seems like I have to wait a day before I assign the lead to make sure I am not sending a SPAM lead to my staff, however, when i do that, the potential for a late response is greater.

    Michelle,

I am currently working on this and have an open case with your colleague. We are truly sorry to hear about the stress and disruption this issue has caused for your property and team. We can imagine how upsetting this must be and are adopting measures to prevent this from happening again in the future.

The current business environment due to COVID-19 has caused an increase the number of socially engineered phishing attacks around the globe.  We are seeing an increase in these types of attacks within the Cvent platform. Similar to how scammers use free email accounts like Gmail or Yahoo to conduct their scams, it appears they have started using Cvent accounts to facilitate fraudulent activity.  These attacks are different from malware which Cvent rigorously protects against. Cvent takes this threat seriously and we are investigating options to safeguard against these bad actors. As an immediate response, we are:

    ·      Suspending and/or removing suspicious accounts.
    ·      Removing the ability to add attachments for planners that have not been vetted and that we do not have a current relationship with.

Our teams are actively working to safeguard this process further with additional registration security measures, limits on MMAs, and protections against phishing. We will keep our customers updated as we release these new safeguards. Currently, please do not respond or engage in any manner with the RFP and alert our support teams immediately.
