Multiple Events in 1 single Invitation

  • 1.  Multiple Events in 1 single Invitation

Has anyone had success in adding multiple registration buttons/links to one single invitation (4 separate registration websites not session options)? This is to give the attendee a choice in which meeting they would like to attend based on their schedule preference. It seems it was working during testing but now that registration has officially launched and gone live they are unable to register for the meeting saying "registration not available".

Do they need to be on an invitee list to register?
I assume your not using the yes/no tag in most invites.

They do actually require to be on the invitation list in order to register so I did import the invitees to all four registration sites.

    What is the yes/no tag?

We have done it by creating multiple weblinks (By going to Marketing - Weblinks - Create Weblinks). Then using these weblinks and creating buttons on the email that people can select.
How did you originally create them? Wondering why it isnt working now.

That's exactly how I would do it. I often find that issue when I go live since something is different when I tested. Obviously . :)
A setting in your registration path?  Reg type?

So true! Always new issues when you go live :-) I am going to try that and report back. Thanks everyone!

I originally created it by duplicating the register now button originally found in the invite and then updating the web address within the button for each specific registration site. I used the registration weblink that is already in the marketing - weblink section but did not create a new one. I wonder if that will help.

We have before! Are all the events' registrations open and not just the main event the invitation is being sent from? That's odd you'd be getting that message.

Another way we have let attendees select what date they'd like to attend if there are several dates offered throughout the year is we have one main event (we call an RSVP) and add a session for each of the event dates (i.e. the session name is the date). Then when it's closer to the actual event date we pull the names that selected that date in the "RSVP" and add them into a new event for that specific event date and send registration like normal.

If they are unable to fix it by EOD then I may have to switch some things around and try it this way since it is delaying registration. Thanks!

Well I created a new weblink and still the same issue. This has been escalated to the tech team especially since all 4 sites are live and open for registration. So weird!

Are you sending the invite from Cvent?  And from one of the four events?  If yes, I wonder if Cvent drops a cookie on the end user that "links" (sorry for the terminology) the invite to only the one reg site - so essentially it doesn't think the user is allowed to register on the others.  For testing sake - have you tried putting all the links into a single email you send outside of Cvent and see if it works that way?  And if you try it - make sure to clear your browser cache before you do so you eliminate any cookies that may have been dropped.

    Hi Heather,

Yes the invite is coming from Cvent. I added all 4 registration links into one invitation. I haven't tried it using an outside email but will test it. I did copy the link and paste into a new browser instead of clicking directly on the register now button and got the same error.
