  • 1.  Feature Highlight: Multi Language for Flex Events is HERE!

    Posted 09-30-2020 15:55
Hot off the press - the Multi-Language feature can now be enabled in your #Event(Flex) events, allowing you to seamlessly create an event in multiple languages to accommodate a diversity of international audiences! Read more about this exciting feature below.

    -------------------------------------------------------

What major changes are there from Classic Registration?
    • All resources are now in Language Management and shared across languages. This means you will no longer have to create a website or registration path per language.
    • Registrants can switch between languages during registration or after registration.
    • You can enable Multi-Language or a language after launching. Just be aware that any languages added to the event will immediately be live on the language selector.

Need a little more detail? Read below (and check out the Knowledge Base help article)!

Enable the "Languages" feature in Event Configuration and select the languages you'd like your event to be available in. All text that appears on the website and during registration will be in Language Management and available for translation. This means that you no longer have to create a separate website and registration path per language. All website and registration pages can be translated into a language. Whenever you save or publish your website, any new text will appear in Language Management and any changed text for an existing will update the base text.

There is a new "language selector" widget available for attendees to switch languages on the website. You can go to your header/footer in Site Designer and add this widget. The widget will show all languages that are enabled in the event. You can either edit text directly in language management or export the text resources, have translators add in translations, and then import back in those translations. You can style and customize your text widgets for non-primary languages using the rich text editor in Language Management.

Invitation lists will be available in all languages that are added to the event. You can either use the default invitation list per language or copy an invitation list from another language by selecting "use another list's emails" during copy. In the email designer, there is a drop-down to select the language and invitation list that you wish to edit.

Browser detection will be coming soon - keep an eye on our weekly release notes for this release!
