Hi Ava,
We have used Reference ID weblinks successfully. To take this a step further, we use a specific, consistent code for each social media channel across events:
Facebook = FB
LinkedIn = LI
Twitter = TWT
I also add a code for the event for internal purposes. One of ours was 2021-07_TTS_FB. This indicated who registered for our July CDW Tech Talk Series (a monthly event last summer) via Facebook.
We also track for our partners the people they invite to an event by giving them their own Reference ID weblink. We are able to reduce the number of registration paths/types, eliminate to use of a voucher code, and the planner can provide the contact information for our partner's invitees.
It's an easy feature to use!

Hi Ava,
As Linda mentioned, you can create different weblinks and utilize the reference IDs feature for each weblink to track which channel, ads, etc. registrants have registered for the event from.

Has anyone had any success with tracking event registrations that come in through LinkedIn ads? I have tried everything and nothing is working!!??? Please share what you did if you've had success.
