Hey all-I could use some help. 1st time making name tags...

I have the tag and data tags made but i don't know how to do it so I can format it to print out 8 tags on an 11x8.5 sheet of paper.

Tags are 2.75x4 so 8 should fit with a small extra strip but i don't know how to do it and could not find a solution searching help or the discussions.

    Thanks in advance!!

Go to libraries - Under templates select Badges and Certificates - Change the folder to badges - Actions - Create Badge - Click on the elipses next to stock - create stock. Here you will need to enter the width and height of the individual name badge, the margins and rows and columns per page. You can account for the extra strip in the margin area. I hope this helps!

Export your report. I find this to be helpful: https://www.pcnametag.com/free-name-tag-templates.

Have you considered exporting the data to Excel and using the template from your badge stock provider? i.e. Avery will give you the specs for setting up printing.

I've always found that I need to export to excel and then do a mailmerge in word to get my badges to work correctly

It's been more than 2 weeks, but I agree with @samantha heffernan.

Exporting and merge if you are not using QR codes works.
But that adds multiple steps. And when onsite you want to get things printed quickly.

The other option is to use one of the standard built in templates using a different size.
I've created custom templates, but it's been hit or miss getting the margins correct.

What did you end up doing?

Following! Looks like you already have great advice. Question: have you considered using OnArrival? EventInABox is fairly inexpensive. We use it, and OnArrival Premium, which is free with our Enterprise account. I find it very useful to have the on-demand badge printing at check-in, and invitees automatically marked as Participants in the Cvent back-end system.

We use the professional version of the software, so you'll need to go to libraries. Choose Badges and Certificates. Choose Folder: Name Badges.  Under Actions  Create Badge. Click on the "three dots" next to stock - create stock. Here you will need to add the width and height of each name badge, the margins and rows and columns per page. You can account for the extra strip in the margin area. We customize name tags for every event.
