  • 1.  New to Freelance work - Need CVent License advise!

    Posted 01-07-2021 15:12
I have been a CVent client for over 5 years through the corporation I work for.  I am looking to take on a few freelance event support positions that require CVent as the platform.

Question:  IF the company looking for support is asking for CVent specifically, can I assume they have their own account OR do I need to invest in my own account and charge back any fees to new projects?

    Any advice would be welcome!

This is 100% opinion, of course, but I don't think you can or should assume that clients will have their own instance; but, assuming you'll be your only employee for a while, I'd vote for making each of your clients get the software license(s) they want to manage their business. That's a hefty expense for you to assume and configure for multiple clients as a one-woman show. If you did pursue your own license, you'd have to weigh out how robust you wanted your instance to be (e.g. Inquisium versus feedback surveys) in order to cater to your clients and factor those costs into your fees.
