  • 1.  Are you aware of upcoming Legacy Report sunset milestones?

    Posted 10-08-2020 12:40

By now, you've likely seen Cvent's newer, more modern reporting platform throughout your account. Our Legacy Reports (think: the old Standard and Custom reports) will be retired soon (more deets on timelines below), so it's critical that you start adopting new Reports now!

New Reports are a complete revamp of the old reporting system. In the new Reports, data is collected and displayed in a more visually appealing way and allows for data to be quickly manipulated and analyzed directly within the Cvent platform. You can even display reports in different languages, time zones, and locales (all of which are not available in Legacy Standard or Custom Reports).

As of December 15, 2020, you will no longer be able to create new Legacy Reports in any event (whether a new event or a past event). Even if you copy an event with Legacy Reports built out, these will not copy over. Come mid-year 2021, any historical Legacy Reports will be removed across your account. To note: You will never lose any data within your events when we say goodbye to Legacy Reports, it's only changing the way you view this data! Even when your Legacy Reports are removed from old events, your event data is still right there for you to re-run in a new Report indefinitely.

Here are some of the top Knowledge Base articles to have in your back pocket as you start (or continue) to adopt new Reports:

You can also reference the Reporting page of the Solution Evolution Hub for other key migration resources, as well as sign up for the next live online training opportunity!

Great knowledge for all of us and our accounts. I can't even remember what it was like to use Legacy Reports as the New Reports feature has been so incredibly user-friendly. Now we just need to be able to run Custom Reports across all information in our accounts ... any updates on when/if that update might be available?

Thank you - our biggest issue which we are hoping can be fixed is how to do custom reports so we can make sure that our non-account users can easily pull the reports from the access portal.

I especially love the new Access Portal! We often need to communicate data to other stakeholders, and it has made the experience much nicer than the Legacy way of sharing the Parked Reports. In particular, for our internal stakeholder that are involved with multiple events, it's nice for them to be able to log in on one Portal and have access to multiple reports.

I like the user functionality, but I would love the ability to include ANY data fields in the reports. Such as pulling a report of all contacts with bounced email AND who have never attended an event. Easy way to do a mass cleanup.

    Thanks for the info!

I vaguely remember when New Reports first came out how daunting it was to get used to that new way of pulling data.... I couldn't imagine not using it now! For anyone still depending on Legacy, just know that it's not as bad as it seems to change over... Once you get your head around the new system, you'll quickly realize how much more control you have and you'll be pulling beautifully collated data in no time!

This is extremely helpful! I'm new-ish to Cvent, having just launched our first event a couple of weeks ago.  These articles were very helpful as I naviagate the reporting tools.  Thank you!
