Is it possible to edit the information that is on the Event Overview tab?  
For example I need to see quickly what the breakdown of registrant type is, like number of attendees and number of sponsors.  I would like this to be on the overview so that it is not necessary to run a report to find out this information or dig farther. TIA.

Do you see a section under event summary titled "Registrations" with a line chart? If you toggle the following buttons on the bottom of that chart, you can see registrations by registrant type by hovering over the chart months:
Chart Type: Area
Time Increment: Month
Breakdown by: Registration Type

If you don't see that chart, you should see a gear icon by "Event Summary" (under the location, date & time, current status info) that allows you to add the "registrations" display to the event summary
