Testing Event after launching

Is it possible, or will Cvent ever include the ability to test something after launching an event?  There are times where something has been launched and we've had to go in and tweak something. I'd like to be able to then test the update, but it seems the only way to do that is to actually register myself.

I know there is a preview function, but it doesn't allow for testing the post-registration emails like Reg Confirmation, Follow-up emails, etc.

It'd be an amazing feature to have if we could test post-launching.

Thoughts?  Any other work-arounds people have found?

    Hi Sara,

Testing functionality for planners is not available post event launch as the event is ready to accept live registrations and it will be difficult to separate live vs test registrations. You can certainly use preview or registration links to review the website and registration pages. However, post registration pages or emails cannot be tested.

We have got this request previously and the only workaround is to duplicate the event and perform test registrations. This can help you review the entire registration experience with emails and post reg pages.

This event can be deleted once you have gone through the testing.

    Hi Sara,
Are you building the event in Flex? If so, I'm able to test all of my emails before launching the event. In the preview function, I register myself and I submit a request for everything I want to test. After my registration, I go in my emails and I send them manually, one by one. Event if they're set for automatically be sent, you can test them manually by sending yourself the email (since you registered). You can easily test any email you've programmed, but you must make sure to submit a request for each things you want to verify (air, hotel, roommate, amount due, etc.).

I'm not sure if that's what you were referring to. Hope it helps!

I completely agree with you that testing emails once an event is launched is key.  I've been asking for this functionality for years and still we wait.  It is key to protecting our brand.

I agree!  I would love to see this functionality as well.

    Hi Sara,

My work around for this for event emails is to send the 'live' email only to myself (typically I am registered as an event attendee, even if I am not actually attending). I will then review it for any errors and confirm all the links work. If it's how I wanted it to look, then I will switch it from a manual send to a scheduled send. If not, I will edit and repeat sending it to myself. I also always work off 'manual' send emails until I am confident they are ready to be seen by attendees.

I am also typically the first person to register after going 'live' to make sure everything looks how we envisioned.
