Hi, Cvent Community! This week's tip covers a long-time feature that can be looked at in a new way during these times. Language Management allows you to customize standard system text in your event to fit your organization's needs or branding. Whether it is instructional text during the registration process, a simple word such as "Agenda," or an error message, you have the ability to make the text your own and ensure your invitees and registrants understand the message. Let's walk through a few helpful tips to enhance your use of Language Management even more:
- Where do I access Language Management? If you haven't used this feature before, open your event and navigate to Website & Registration > Website > Language Management. Here, you will see a lengthy list of Text IDs and Default Text outlining what in the system you can update.
- If you have not used this feature before, the list may look a little overwhelming at first. Our first suggestion is to utilize the Advanced Search function to quickly find what you are looking for, even if you don't know the exact text.
- To the right of the search bar, click Advanced Search. This will open a Search Criteria section where you can enter the Registration Path, Text ID, Default Text, Custom Text, and filter by Area or Type of message, such as Instructions/Label.
- Once you find the text you are looking to update, simply click the pencil icon under the Action column on the left to enter your Custom Text. Don't forget to click the floppy disk icon now to save.
- Helpful Text ID's to Update for Virtual Events:
- Free in Flex Events: If your event fees have changed due to moving virtual, you may want to update the text "Free" to appear with a different word, or simply no text at all. Enter the Text ID "EventWidgets_Products_Free__resx" to make your changes.
- Private Event Error Message: Private virtual event, but making exceptions? Need to discuss further with the interested invitee? Update the error message the invitee receives when they are declined registration from "Contact the planner if you have any questions" to include your contact details or a separate set of directions. Use Text ID "EventGuideSide_PrivateEvent_Error_SubMessage_resx" to make this update.
- Sessions: Changing the word Sessions to reflect as Webcast or other virtual forms? First, make the necessary label updates in the Sessions widget in the Site Designer, then search Sessions in the Language Management search bar. There are several text IDs to update, such as the Registration Summary widget and Payment widget.
