Hello, Cvent Community! For this week's edition of Tip of the Week, we are switching it up a bit from the Cvent product suite. Instead, we wanted to provide some great best practices for you in your very own Community. You may be familiar with some of our standard suggestions, such as adding a headshot to your profile, but these are a few tips that you may not think about and could help increase the engagement on your discussion posts. Read on to help you improve your Community experience and stay more in the know on all things Cvent.

    • Subscribe to Product News
      • Be sure to subscribe not only to the Open Forum and products that are of interest to you, but Cvent's own Product News! You can get the latest product updates right to your inbox. This is an invaluable opportunity through the Community and will keep you informed in real-time.
        • Within your Community Profile, navigate to the Stated Interests section. Select Add a Topic and add ProductNews. Don't forget to review your Forum Notifications within My Settings of your profile.
          • You can select Personalized Digest, which will send a daily email summarizing all content relevant to your preferences, interests, and activity.
          • Personalized Digest & Real-Time Discussion Emails will include the daily summary and real-time emails for discussion threads related to your Stated Interests.
        • Check out more information here
    • Use @ Mentions and Tag Your Own Topics in the Open Forum
      • To bring activity and engagement to the discussion, you can tag another Community user by simply typing @ and searching for their name. Whether you are responding directly to them, want to bring them into the conversation, or are circling back on a past discussion, you will get their attention by tagging them directly.
      • To make sure your post is seen by the relevant audience and to start an interesting discussion, you can add topics by typing a '#' in the text box. In addition to the Cvent product topics, there are excellent Audience tags, such as Higher Ed and Women in Leadership. You can also create your own User Generated tags by simply typing in the phrase of your choice after a hashtag (#)!
    • Embrace Ideation
      • One of the fantastic opportunities within the Cvent Community is sharing your feedback directly. Through Ideation, you not only can submit your own unique idea, but you can also up-vote others if you agree.
        • When sharing an idea, first search for a key word/subject line or filter by the product category to ensure it has not already been submitted.
        • If it has already been submitted, you can up-vote this idea rather than creating your own new one. This will give more visibility to Cvent's product team on the need of this enhancement/suggestion as the number of up-votes grow.
        • Curious which ideas you have posted in the past or up-voted in the past? You can filter by My Ideas to view your personal ideas and My Votes to see which you have contributed to.

What are some of your favorite tips for other Cvent Community users? Have you found anything extra helpful when setting up your profile or writing your first discussion post? We'd love to hear from you and learn more ways to stay engaged! As always, please let us know if you have any questions. #CventTip
