Due to Microsoft's planned retirement of their Internet Explorer version 11 (IE11), Cvent wants to ensure you're aware of related impacts.
- As of March 31, 2021, attendees of a Cvent Attendee Hub® event cannot use IE11 with the virtual event as this browser is not technically compatible with new features being added to the Attendee Hub.
- As of June 30, 2021, we will stop the support of IE11 as a recommended browser across all Cvent products.
Why is this happening?
We're stopping our support because IE11 is an older browser that Microsoft is phasing out given that it is less secure, leaving you more vulnerable to security risks. Also, as Cvent technology continues to advance, some newer features will not be compatible. For the best experience possible across the platform, we recommend upgrading to another supported browser as soon as possible.
What do you mean by 'stopping support'?
Testing will no longer be done for IE11. You won't be able to register for an event using this browser. It's also important to note that certain elements of the Attendee Hub will not function on IE11.
What do I need to do?
Ensure you're using one of the Cvent supported browsers (list below). We also recommend relaying this info to your event attendees (either through your website/registration process or an email) to avoid any scenarios that may impact their event experience. *There will also be a pop-up message in the Attendee Hub should an attendee arrive through IE11.
What are the supported browsers I can use?
If you experience any problems while downloading, you should contact your organization's system administrator.
