How compatible is Cvent with Zoom.  We are working on a virtual conference and currently comparing the two platforms.

    Hi Anita,

I hope you are doing well! I'll let any other community members jump in to share their own insights, however I did want to let you know Zoom is compatible with Cvent through many different functions and experiences. I just connected with your account team to share this question in preparation for your Virtual Attendee Hub demo later today.

    Best,

    Danni

What did you learn? We patched Cvent and Zoom for our recent virtual event but looking to see how we can improve the experience for our next event.
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm not on the team that uses the platform; I just ask the questions on other's behalf.  To date, I've not heard any feedback, but when I do, I'll chime in.

I just used Zoom for our conference and to be honest, I cannot say that I found the Zoom Integration to be worth the cost.  The one nice feature is that it will autocreate your sessions, but at least for me, thats about it.  None of my attendance data made it back to CVent and my zoom links didn't sync to CrowdCompass...they had to be migrated manually.  Given what I paid for it, I expected much more.

    Hi Jeremy,

This is actually great feedback; we're currently looking into the integration and the sole purpose in doing so would be to ensure that participant data is marked off in Cvent so we don't have to manually consolidate lists... otherwise there's not a whole lot of benefit to this on our end.

Is this an isolated incident or have you had this same experience of data not making it back to Cvent on more than one occasion?

I would be interested to know if this was an isolated incident as well. We have our first Cvent/Zoom integrated meeting coming up soon. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

This was our first conference using it, so I cannot say if it was a one-off due to some misconfiguration or if its a more widespread issue.

    Hi Anita,
We have been using Zoom since the end of March when we pivoted to virtual events and found that it seemed to be best for our needs at that time. There was actually a lot that was manual or a duplication of effort that caused us a lot of wasted time, so we investigated the Cvent integration. We were actually the first company to go live with their integration a few months ago, and it has cut out almost all the frustrating duplicate work. There are still a few things that can be done to improve the integration, but being that they just launched it earlier this year, it's not only a great integration, but the team that wrote the integration was really great in listening to our pain points and making adjustments to the integration for ALL clients - based on our feedback. We were a bit of a beta tester, but we are really happy with the integration. One of the few things I'd like to see improved is pulling in polling data, but our poll questions are different with every webinar, which makes it close to impossible to pull into unique data fields on the back end of Cvent.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Lori,
Happy to hear of your success with your Zoom integration. We are currently using GTW and looking into either adding Zoom or transitioning to it although we are finding that the reporting capability is not where we need it to be. We are finding that we would have to have multiple reports and do a lot of manual work to get all of the data into one report. Are you finding that this has been simplified for you?
    Thank you!

    Hi Tiffany,
I would agree that the reporting is better in GTW, and we do have to do some manual manipulation with the Zoom report... HOWEVER, most of the Zoom data is going into Cvent, and you can pull that data into Cvent reports, but I haven't played with it enough to know the extent. I do wish that I had better reporting on the poll questions, but I get it - our poll questions are different for every webinar. I DO like that the data that pulls back into Cvent helps us with our CPE certificate process... and we were able to remove part of our manual process.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi, all!

I wanted to jump in again to provide some additional insight. Cvent does offer a Zoom integration, and our new Virtual Attendee Hub solution can be powered by Zoom. A few differences:

    • Utilizing the Cvent/Zoom integration is in two separate systems, and the end-user/organization will use their own Zoom account. Participation data does sync back to the event with this integration, and if there are any issues, we have integration consultants to troubleshoot and assist.
      • @Jeremy DeStefano, thanks for your feedback here! I have notified your Account Team of these concerns to ensure they can be discussed and resolved moving forward. This should be considered an isolated incident.
    • With the Virtual Attendee Hub, all aspects of the virtual event are in one platform. This enhances the experience for both the user on the back-end producing the event, as well as the attendee experiencing the virtual event live.
      • The Cvent Video Player delivers immersive video across desktop & mobile platforms. Customers can use their own capture tool like Zoom, Webex, or anything else that can produce a RTMP feed to utilize our player.  We also have Zoom available for capturing content as an included part of the Cvent Video Player.
      • Note: As mentioned, you can also bring your own video conferencing solution if you do not plan to use Zoom.

There is a ton to learn about both offerings, so I would always suggest speaking with your Account Team for more detail. They can also loop in a technical consultant to answer any specific product questions.

Here are a few extra resources for you all:

Please let me know any questions!

    Best,

    Danni
