Agenda Page Layout

    Can we set up the Agenda to list the description above the Speakers? Or at least change how the speakers display so it doesn't take up so much room per session? I want to show the speakers, but the description is the most important element per session on the Agenda page.

    I concur! This is so important. In building our event, working with the event builder team, we had to create a custom agenda to get this issue fixed. The build team did a great job - kudos - but unfortunately, as we update the agenda with new speakers, we have to ask the build team to update the HTML code. It would be so much easier and efficient to simply enter everything into the event management module.

    Yes, great point Christopher. I agree with both of you that the context for the session needs to be prioritized over the display of the speakers. The associated speaker content is the 'cherry on the top'.

    Hi,

    1 year ago we listed all additional agenda features we needed when starting using Cvent event management platform. We had a call with the product manager who said that all this was on the roadmap and should be launched in Q2 2020. We have sent quite a few reminders during this time and according to the last update, the new agenda features would be released in Q1 2021.

    Could we have an update on this, as there seem to be more clients than us asking for a more flexible and useful agenda? For example, if the agenda could have the same look/design/features on the event page as in the registration process/path, that would be an enhancement with 100%.

    I agree - we have had the same issues - hopefully they are addressing and will complete before sunsetting Classic!

    Thank you for your feedback! We understand how important the agenda functionality is within your event and can assure you we are continuing to make improvements. If you haven't already, be sure to share these as ideas here in the Community for my team and I to review in further detail and learn additional use cases. 

    The updated Web Agenda remains a valuable improvement for our teams to provide to our users.  As expected, the past year has required us to revisit and reassess much of the feature work we had originally planned on our roadmap and determine where certain projects would sit in terms of priority.  With that, the Web Agenda project has not yet started development and our current delivery timeline is projected for some time within Q3 2021.

    Rob, while I appreciate the update and the tumultuous year we've all had - the agenda page updates need to be prioritized in Flex. As it currently exists, it is not useable and is a huge step back from what we had in classic.  This is client facing information and affects our brand.  It took 5 years previously to get agenda changes done.  To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

    I agree - it is very frustrating that we have so much less agenda functionality in Flex than we did in Classic.  For large events with multiple sessions - both the Agenda layout and the Session Registration pages leave alot to be desired.  Not a great customer experience for our attendees or the planners!

    This is probably one of my main frustrations with the Flex registration setup. Most of our meetings consist of 3+ concurrent breakout panels throughout the entire meeting (sometimes up to 7 concurrent panels each day). Not having a way to easily layout the agenda in a way that makes more sense to our customer has been frustrating. I think that if the session tracks feature were enabled it might help 'some' in our case, but would still have the layout/formatting issues we currently experience.

    Thank you for raising this issue with us again. We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience so far. We know that the agenda is huge part of your event website and have been working diligently for the past several months to design an agenda experience that will exceed your expectations. We are unfortunately experiencing some issues in the development process that have pushed back our timeline for the feature release to Q1 of 2022. I know this is disappointing news for all of you but please know that this is a high priority for us and we're doing everything we can to get the newly designed agenda released as soon as possible. 

    In the mean time, you can leverage the Code Widget to build custom agenda's like Frank recommended. It's not an ideal solution since it will require a little more effort, but it can be used as a short-term solution. We have a session this year at Cvent Connect on Wednesday at 11:45AM PT that will go through an example of this. The session will also be made available on-demand shortly after and we can make the session document that provides a step-by-step guide available in the Community as well. 

    We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this delay has caused and truly appreciate your patience as we work to get this released as quickly as possible.     That is disappointing. I have used the code widget for custom agendas and while it works, it is cumbersome and requires more effort. We will continue to use that when the need warrants and wait patiently (kinda :) ) for the release of the updates.

    Thanks for the update.  I'm disappointed that Cvent is not prioritizing client-facing components.  

    As event planners, we know too well the conference agenda can make or break an event – so how it is presented to clients is key. When the agenda shines- easily viewed, showing amazing speakers, and excellent programming-it turns our event into an experience where attendees feel excited to attend. It looks good on our brand, and quite frankly looks good on Cvent as well.

    The Flex agenda in its current state is denying all of us that opportunity to look good.

    Hi,

    I fully agree, we have discussed this with the product team since March 2020 and the development timeline has changed so many times. According to the last information about the new agenda it is planned to be launched in Q4 2021, almost 2 years later than the first information we got. 

    The agenda is such an important part of the event site, it is really strange that it is not prioritized at all by Cvent.

    Just as an fyi - as part of the early adopter program for flex, agenda concerns were flagged in October 2018. I don't understand why agenda functionality is ALWAYS a fight - when Cvent moved from "brown" to blue (now classic); it was a very similar situation.

    With this new release timeline of Q1 2022, are you able to share what enhancements are getting worked on? Would like to know if the following is in the Sessions release plans:
    - Ability to create subsessions (Ex: Primary Session=Massage; Sub Session=Massage Timeslot
    - Ability to add images to each session type
    - Ability to connect (1) session question to multiple sessions to prevent​ having to create multiple questions with the same content
    - In reporting, ability for sessions to be broken down by column regardless of Session group status

    Would love to know what's upcoming for the agenda/sessions release in 2022.

    The first iteration of our agenda redesign is focused on the layout look and feel and the attendee experience. 

    Sub-sessions are not currently in scope but we will have Session Categories (that act as agenda filters) that could solve for this scenario.

    Regarding session images or session type images, we plan on displaying speaker profile images on the agenda but in the first version of the release we're not planning on allowing images in the Cvent Session record.

    Session questions are not in the scope of this initial release. 

    Do you mind providing more information about your reporting question? We have many different reports we can generate so if you're able to provide more details I can look into this further for you.

    When creating sessions, we have started putting the session description in the location field. So far we haven't come up against any space/length issues. This then displays above the speaker info on the agenda page. We are able to use this workaround because all of our sessions are in the same location.

    We gave up waiting for the solution from Cvent, and are now using a third party to deliver our speaker and agenda listing.  They provide multiple templates to choose from to display the agenda and speakers in a format most appropriate for our programme.  We bypass the Cvent Agenda and Speaker default pages and simply include the html link on a custom Cvent page: http://www.cvent.com/events/south-gp-cme-2021/custom-18-01e66553d9bc44ddaeb923c6e71744f2.aspx  This updates automatically anytime we make a programme or speaker change.  It also provides an app solution better than the current CrowdCompass solution and delivers a virtual meeting seemlessly, with 'through-the-roof' attendee interaction (for both delegates and exhibitors).
