Wow, Cvent CONNECT has already wrapped up. What an incredible week it has been. :) We're excited to offer you a chance to ask your questions on the planning of a hybrid Cvent CONNECT directly to our Meetings & Events team through this upcoming Ask the Expert session here in the Open Forum

Many of you have already shared your questions on the discussion thread, and we noticed a trend for a few questions. Many of you are wondering how to keep the virtual audience engaged during a hybrid event. While we will wait for our experts to reply during the live session on August 17 to hear how they approached it for Cvent CONNECT, we did want to address a new question for you all.

    • What did you think about your own experience with engagement as a virtual attendee during Cvent CONNECT?

Let us know below! We'd love to hear any feedback and make sure we can incorporate this into future Cvent events to come.

I think it was ok - there was a lot going on in the hub but it felt like so much of it didnt apply to me. I wish there was a way to see a live feed of an 'all attendee' chat or something immediately engaging on the home page, not just during the session. i didnt experience much 'engagement' during the sessions beyond the chat - no live polling or q&a in any of the sessions i attended. the virtual sessions for the premium ticket were weird since they were pre-recorded and questions being answered during the session. i got there late and didnt know that until halfway through since it wasnt announced more than once. i found it distracting though to listen to the session plus try to read the answers. i would have preferred it to have been half pre-recorded and half live for q&a. disappointing there wasnt more technology related engagement during the sessions. i always feel like that is a HUGE miss...even just live polling/q&a is very basic/old stuff... we need something new.

I wish that more hands on experince would have taken place instead of the high level overview.

I have two Cvent logins, so I used my SPE Detroit login for the virtual experience. I admit, I was cold and I was a bit tired of sitting in low chairs (sore low back), so I grabbed a high table in the Innovation Pavilion and streamed some of the Keynote sessions in the Virtual environment.

I liked it just fine! As an onsite attendee, it was really nice to have the choice of going to a breakout session in person and catching the large keynotes on my mobile phone screen while nursing a hot coffee and sitting (or standing) in a warm and comfortable place!

    Hi Megha,

The virtual experience went ok! I wish the sessions had been a bit more interactive. The simulive looked great but there was little incentive to actually attend live. As for live streaming, it has its own issues. I think having some live but made-for-virtual sessions would have been good.

The exhibitor and attendee engagement features were nice, though most people did not take advantage of it (the one-on-one messaging for example, from a virtual attendee point of view, yielded few rewards). I did enjoy the discussion rooms.

The game is a great idea but felt rigged. As a virtual attendee, there was no way we could ever achieve the kind of scores shown on the score board, so I'm guessing onsite attendees had more things they could do.

Categories for the on-demand content might be nice too! The catalogue is overwhelming to look at right now.

    Cheers,

As an in-person attendee, naturally I did not engage much virtually, however, I would recommend that the sessions be streamed in the app as well. If I had a break in my schedule, I would have loved to grab a coffee, find a spot in the foyer, and catch a session virtually, but I didn't have my laptop with me.

    Thanks!
