Hi, everyone! New week, new Huddle of the Week discussion! There has been some great insights shared through these discussions recently – if you haven't checked them out or participated yet, you can use the #HuddleoftheWeek tag to search the conversations, or view our new page.

Today, let's dig into a common topic for our huddles – virtual events. We have seen you all learn how to execute and create truly engaging virtual events in the past year and few months now. We're interested to hear how you are keeping up the event success and momentum by continuing engagement and "reliving" the event even after it has passed.

This has always been an aspect once an event completes (maybe a general session recording was shared on your website, or photos from the event were shared on your social feeds). With virtual, it puts you in a special position to really take that to the next level. With that said,

    • How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes?
    • Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement?

Let us know your thoughts and experiences below! If you have any suggestions for how Cvent could help you in this process, feel free to share those, as well. #HuddleoftheWeek #VoiceIt

Community Team Note: There will not be a Huddle of the Week discussion next week (May 31, 2021). Continue to get involved through our ongoing Community Contest and check out the next huddle on June 7th!

    • How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes? Not as well as we should but we'll usually do a post event follow-up with a survey link, thank you for attending, links to collateral if applicable and if it was an inperson event we'd do another to follow up with a photography portfolio from the event.
    • Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement? If applicable in a series. We're not as well as organized as we should be to plan far enough out in advance but last year when we did a series we'd use post-event follow up from one to then begin promoting the next.

    • How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes?\
    • Have a follow-up communication plan in place to check in on feedback (or survey completions), key action items/takeaways that can be followed up on, or ask questions regarding how they are putting best practices learned in place
    • Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement?
    • It depends, but yes if available. It's a great way to get attendees excited about what's to come and the follow-up from the event that just concluded.

    • How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes?
      • A survey link right after the event is a good idea since so many are still virtual.
    • Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement?
      • A great way to promote your upcoming events is to list a link in your current event; that way attendees will have a first hand knowledge as what is to come.

      • Not really as our conferences vary based on industry topics
      • We do promote ongoing attendee engagements

    Hi Danni,

A lot of our post-event engagement comes through feedback surveys and accreditation. With the accreditation in particular, we tie in the finished events with the future ones, since we came up with a new overall pass program rather than a per-event program like we did when in-person. Our members get to accumulate hours across events in the virtual environment.
My big wish is that Cvent have an umbrella profile for contacts where they could access their own credit information across events. (I'll add it as an idea). It would make that process so much easier!

    Cheers,

    • How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes?
      • It really depends what the event is and how large the group is. Most of the time it is just recap material or videos.
    • Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement?
      • No we don't usually have that much lead time, unfortunately.

    • How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes?
      • For our virtual events from the past year, we supplied links material or videos.
    • Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement?
      • No, but for the virtual series, we have been hosting continuously we allow all registrants to review all material and videos from past events.

How do you continue to engage with your attendees after your virtual event completes?
We don't host large events but connecting through LinkedIn keeps that relationship active and emailing thought leadership items that would help with a solving a problem that the attendee might have had.

Do you bring marketing & promotion for your next event into your post-event engagement?
Yes, we write a lot of thought leadership content that always has a call to action embedded that promotes our upcoming courses
