  • 1.  How will you rely on your venue as a valuable tech partner for hybrid events?

Hello, and happy start to the week (and month of May)! We're kicking off the next Huddle of the Week discussion.

As a community, we have discussed and seen many conversations surrounding health & safety protocol when it comes to returning to in-person events. A few weeks back, we asked a polling question on what event planners expect from a venue to support a hybrid event. The majority chose 'All of the Above' to the choices of A/V equipment, "hybrid-ready" rooms, and onsite production and technology expertise. Let's dig into that topic a bit more.

We know how crucial it will be to host a safe in-person event, but the questions on technology and support will also now come into play when you're partnering with a venue to execute a hybrid event. With that in mind, take a look at our discussion questions below:

    • How will you rely on your venue as a valuable tech partner for hybrid events?
    • If you are a supplier or hotelier, how is your property preparing for the A/V and technology production of hybrid events?

Share any thoughts and experiences so far on the thread below! If you have other questions for your supplier peers, be sure to ask those, too. #HuddleoftheWeek #VoiceIt

I am a with a DMO, so we are kind of in the middle, playing facilitator between the venues and the planners.  As I have participated in different industry webinars I have been sharing information on the current trends with the venues in my city.  We all want to be prepared as possible to accommodate the group's needs.

We are fortunate to have a fabulous AV team on staff and rely on them heavily to make the magic happen on the virtual side.
They are always looking into new technology and keeping up with the tech advancements. As Cvent flags new technology, our Cvent users are emailing our AV team to make sure they are in the loop. It is all about the communication. :)

    Hi Danni,

We have a preferred A/V vendor we take along to all our venues when we are in-person, so our expectations on the hotel side of things would be to have the structure to support them in bringing all their equipment, meaning a solid electrical grid ready for heavy use, and rooms with stages set up with camera placement in mind. And of course the wi-fi/internet capabilities for live-streaming multiple sessions at once + support in-person attendee use, with the idea that the event app would bridge the remote and in-person audiences.

    Cheers,
