Denise, I don't think you're missing anything - you have to hover over the banner for the arrows to appear.
This is in my notes as a potential accessibility concern. I am not sure it's WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliant, which, as a quasi-governmental agency, we have to achieve by April 2026 for all digital materials.

On our attendee hub website, we have three banners scheduled at the same time. However, the arrows, to click through each banner are not visible. I already tried changing the theme background color and I still can't see the arrows. Any suggestions or a setting that I'm missing?
