Just to clarify - the Source ID already exists. It is just a matter of including it as part of your export and including it in the new import since that is what Cvent will use to identify that attendee and the changes you want to make to the contact details.

When you export the list out, be sure to include the Source ID. The Source ID is the unique field that you'll be using to match the registrants with (since it won't be able to match them based on the email addresses any longer) when you import the list back in.
