We are back again this week to share our Huddle of the Week post!

An engagement strategy can set the tone for your whole event. Keeping your attendees engaged is one of the biggest goals at each event. Creating an engagement strategy can be challenging with in-person, hybrid, and virtual events. Some engagement activities to implement are a pulse check with live polling, offer content tracks for specific interests, train speakers and panelists, and play games.

    Question for you:

    • What is your favorite engagement activity to implement at your events?
    • What is the biggest challenge you face with your engagement strategy?

One of the best tools for our conferences is to utilize the attendee hub Q&A tool. This helps attendees get their questions asked and does not require them to step up to a microphone in a large crowd to be heard. A challenge is not all questions get answered, but does allow for the speaker to follow up on topics later throughout the program.

    Question for you:

    • What is your favorite engagement activity to implement at your events? Well that depends if it is virtual or in person. B/O rooms seem to work well for both.
    • What is the biggest challenge you face with your engagement strategy? organization

We often use the live polling feature for engagement. We also find that speakers that have different forms of media (verbal, videos, images, etc) engage audiences better than speakers who present with just one medium (e.g., power point only).

    Hi Megan,

    Question for you:

    • What is your favorite engagement activity to implement at your events? In my previous role, I would say teambuilding/raffle-type activities were a well-received engagement option.
    • What is the biggest challenge you face with your engagement strategy? I would have to say a general lack of interest or multitasking

    • What is your favorite engagement activity to implement at your events? We do an afternoon at one of our events where people break off into small groups and go do a fun activity (sight seeing, kayaking, golfing, etc)
    • What is the biggest challenge you face with your engagement strategy? Finding something that entertains everyone. What one person enjoys might not be what another person does. And that we overstretch their time so sometimes people will skip/bail in favor of some down time

    • What is your favorite engagement activity to implement at your events? We like to do giveaways, or raffle for a charity donation. As a bank, we love to give back to the community in ways that are driven by our customers.
    • What is the biggest challenge you face with your engagement strategy? This year our attendance in person have been lower, so getting engagement from the people that are there is great....just getting people there :)

A great engagement activity to implement at your events is live polling/ Q&A. The challenge is to get a larger percentage of the attendees to participate.
