    • What tools do you think you need to enhance your operational efficiency and sales productivity?   A great tool for us is Cvent Diagraming this program helps the operational team to set the banquet rooms to the clients request and eliminates the guessing of the room set.  We often use CVent Diagraming in the sales process to demonstrate how the meeting room will look should the hotel win the bid.  We have won many bids because we have included diagrams.

Not a hospitality professional but an end user... Id love to see whether its through cvent diagramming or something in the solution where we can take the floor plan and assign names / locations to each room (i.e. this room is our war room, this room is storage, this is meal room) and be able to export and save as jpgs or pdfs.  Right now we're photoshopping over things but it'd be way easier if it all lived within cvent and as part of the agenda we could pop out the image of the floorplan for people!

    Hi Rachel,

That's a great suggestion! To do this through #CventEventDiagramming , simply add your floorplan to an event, use the "Text" tool from the task bar on the left and annotate the rooms (help article linked here). Once complete, you can export the room as a pdf by going to File --> Export Diagrams --> Current Diagram. If you included text outside of your diagram, make sure "Prefunction Perimeter" is selected so that the area outside your floorplan but within the grey perimeter will be included (help article linked here).

    • What tools do you think you need to enhance your operational efficiency and sales productivity?
I'm in agreement with the answers so far (although I am an end-user, not a hospitality professional) regarding diagramming. Having the ability to EASILY manipulate and set a room plan is invaluable and really lessens the stress of the "unknown". I also really appreciate virtual tours, video, photos, etc. to get me as comfortable with the space as possible.

I agree with previous responses. If we could add name assignments to rooms, along with color cording the diagram and creating a key, the diagramming tool would be invaluable!

I totally agree with previous responses. If my team could add name assignments to rooms, along with adding color coding and a key, then Cvent's diagramming tool would be an exceptional tool when communicating across the team, with the client and the hotelier.

    • What tools do you think you need to enhance your operational efficiency and sales productivity?  Beyond diagramming, having a repository of who to contact for which service at the hotel would be a simple yet great added value. Some hotels share a printour version of that, or just exchange cellphone number during the pre-con, but it's not always exhaustive.

What tools do you think you need to enhance your operational efficiency and sales productivity?
Bulk actions. One big piece of efficiency is doing things in bulk. One amazing product enhancement is bulk actions in more Cvent components.

    Hello!

I am not a hospitality professional currently but when I was I would say Social Tables was one of my favorite tools as well. I would agree with all the comments below.

    • What tools do you think you need to enhance your operational efficiency and sales productivity?  I need a project management tool that can easily feed into my event management. I would love it if fields pulled in from event management to create tasks beyond event creation.

    • What tools do you think you need to enhance your operational efficiency and sales productivity?

how to use cvent the most effectively. We know how to use cvent, but we use it the same way for each event. There might be other ways to use it better.

also how to utilize Salesforce with cvent for sales productivity.

I have not used Cvent Diagramming yet, but will do a dive into it based on the positive comments. We are a small internal event team, so any way to drive efficiency and boost productivity is a plus! But for me, data is the superstar... having access to key data points and robust reporting helps us make the right decisions to drive performance, and Cvent has some great built-in reporting that has been helpful with events.

I think a skill that is a must to hone to be successful in hospitality is your elevator pitch. This is a 30 second speech about your business or product, called this because it should be short enough for an elevator ride. But you want it to be engaging and not just the facts. This is something so simple but sometimes is not practiced enough. Being able to make small talk is great, but how you deliver your 30 second pitch of your venue, event, product or services are what people may or may not remember. This speech could be the difference between someone wanting to find you and talk more and them not being interested. Be confident and practice it, in the mirror with a friend or co-worker.

    • Event diagraming is a great hospitality tool, we've explored it but not generally using.  Overall sales productivity reporting and integrations into other tools such as salesforce are helpful tools.
