  • 1.  Multi Type Registration Approvals and Autogenerated Confirmation Emails

    We are looking for a solution to a problem we encountered with email confirmations for one of our events.  

     

    Problem:

    We have 2 types of registration approvals for an event, there is 1 confirmation email automatically generated and sent with approval as we currently know it. 

     

    Example:

    Attendees may request a hotel room and a trade show badge during the registration process.  Some attendees may be confirmed for a hotel room and a badge, and some may only be confirmed for a trade show badge.

     

    Confirmation types:

    1. Room and Badge Confirmed
    2. Badge Only Confirmed

     

    Our Solution:

    We created 2 different confirmation emails, one email for each confirmation type. We turned on 1 type of email confirmation then selected "manually send."  We individually selected the names at this point who would receive the specified email confirmation. We repeated the process with the alternate confirmation email.

     

    Question for you:

    Is there a better way to design our registration process to allow for the 2 different types of registration approvals to autogenerate the correct email confirmation?

    Hi Abigail,

    Thanks for your question! You could do the same setup that you have, but also set up different registration types for these attendee types. Then, you can assign the registration type to each confirmation email (under advanced settings) and  then have them automatically go out once people are approved. This way, they will already be set up to go to the respective registration types and it can be an automatic process.

    Hi Abigail,

    Hope you are well.

    I believe you are working on the 'Multi Approval Test ' event under the account 'ARISNV001'.

    As my colleague mentioned in the previous response, you can create two registration types : 1. Hotel with badge. 2. Badge only, and then go to each email and under advanced settings, add the advance filter for registration type > equals > (select the registration type).

    I also see that you already have the following registration types in your event : Aristocrat, Convention, Exhibitor and Test.

    So another way to set this up is that instead of creating these two as registration types, you can create them as Admission items. So you can keep the same 4 registration types and create two admission items : 1. Hotel with badge. 2. Badge only. The invitees will be able to select only one admission item out of the two. 

    And then you can go to the email > advanced settings > edit > advanced filters > add the filter basis admission item.

    This way, when their registration is approved, they will receive the email basis the admission item they have selected. 

    So you can test and see which option out of the two suits you the best.
