When pasting the event registration link to social media, the webpage preview says "Test Event" Anyone know how to change this?

Have you fully activated your website and registration from your home page?

It sounds like your website/event is not yet live. Once it's live, the link will work!

If your event is live, make sure you're copy the link from the right place. You need to get the link from the Marketing > Weblinks section.

    Hi Brandi,

Did making your event live solve the issue? You might otherwise need to take a look at some of your event setup/information fields and make sure the title is updated there.

    Hi Everyone!
Thank you for all your comments and suggestions!
The event is/was live, and did not fix the issue. Also, I used the weblink from the Marketing > Weblinks. Neither of these worked.
I ended up opening a case with cvent. I had to add a Share Bar Tag to the registration page, then edit the link preview from there. The share bar tag was then removed. My event link preview is no longer 'Test Event'!

    Thank you,
    Brandi

Odd workaround. My other thought was going to be was the link specific to a reg type.

    I agree with you!!!

I think there should be a more streamlined way to do this....

I second this! Thank you, Brandi, for posting your solution. I had copied last year's event, but all the link previews for the registration, website landing pages had last year's theme and city. Your solution worked for me as well.

Thank goodness for this post. It saved me a call the the helpdesk. This worked for me too.

For Twitter to work I also had to go to the registration path settings and toggle the "share bar" on.

    Hi Brandi,

Sorry to hear your issue with the event link preview. I am having this issue now, but my preview is giving me the information from the event I copied to create my current event. I am taken back by how you needed to correct your issue and will go try it now for mine trouble. I did not use the share bar for this event so never thought that would be the fix, but will go see now. Thank you for sharing out what corrected your issue.

    Hi Brandi,

I am just seeing your question now. That is so weird it was live and you were using the generated weblinks for the event. I do love your workaround idea with using the share option and taking that weblink, thank you for sharing this!

All weblinks will work once your site is live. The other piece is making sure your site is set to Public visibility.
