    Happy Monday everyone!

We're still coming off of a high from last week's amazing CONNECT 2022. We hope those of you that joined us enjoyed your time! If you were with us in person, you probably noticed our partnership with ID.me to create Cvent Health Check, allowing for our daily on-site health checks.

We all are excited to get back to in-person events, and we're pleased that Cvent Health Check can help us get there. Cvent Health Check, powered by ID.me, provides a reliable and secure way to conduct attendee health checks and ensure your duty of care as a host. By providing basic event details you can select the health policy that fits best for your event. To learn more about Cvent Health Check, talk to your account team and read more here!

We'd love to hear more from you about what's been working at your in-person events so far!
    1. Have you implemented any health checks at in-person events this year?
    2. How have your attendees responded to increased health standards and checks at your events?

Thanks for engaging with us! We hope you have a great week. #HuddleoftheWeek #VoiceIt

    1. Have you implemented any health checks at in-person events this year? - We have not conducted on-site heath checks - though we have used a variety of policies and requirements based on the event, over the course of the year.  With CDC recommendations evolving, we have gone from requiring guests to show proof of vaccination to requiring masks at all indoor events and providing hand sanitizers and other health and safety measurements.

    2. How have your attendees responded to increased health standards and checks at your events?  We have not instituted onsite health checks - however, we do ensure we are following all the health and safety guidelines regarding in person events. Some invitees have declined to attend events even as recently as this spring for health reasons.  Others have chosen the virtual option in our hybrid events.  Others have had no concern attending in-person events and even as the mask requirements have been lifted, still others choose to wear masks during indoor events for their own personal safety.  Regardless the personal preference, we strive to provide safe events and encourage anyone who is not feeling well for any reason not to attend in person.

    • Have you implemented any health checks at in-person events this year?  As a hotel we have not had any requests for health checks in 2022.
    • How have your attendees responded to increased health standards and checks at your events? Feedback from clients is that attendance has been great at conferences for 2020.

We have worked with a local company that offers on site rapid covid testing. We also set up a temperature station where people could walk up and stand in front of it, and scan themselves. People had fun with the temp station. Different companies had different reactions to the onsite covid testing, most were positive.

We've only had a few events but we had started offering free covid testing through a third party for those who wanted to use it. We found unfortunately not many people used it unless they required testing for travel purposes. Not sure we'll keep up with it as it's a high cost and mostly we've found only our staff using it.

For the most part people have been good about our requests to please remain masked.

We haven't implemented any health checks yet, but we have implemented precautionary measures, such as masking, social distancing, and providing single serve food and beverages.

    1. Have you implemented any health checks at in-person events this year?
Two weeks ago, Duke hosted our undergraduate reunion weekend for the 2s &7s. It was the first in-person reunion event in three years and it went very well. Upon registering for the event online, registrants and their guests were directed to upload their proof of vaccinations/boosters, or an approved negative test result within 72 hours of the start of the event. Over 65% of those completed this process online prior to arriving in town for the event. Those who had not yet submitted their proof or results did so in an outdoor tented area prior to being granted access to check-in and registration--where they would pick up their weekend pit pass that granted them access to 'everything reunions' throughout the weekend. The pit pass served as the "I'm clear and passed my healthcheck" from that point forward to all staff and volunteers working the weekend's events.

    2. How have your attendees responded to increased health standards and checks at your events?
The shear excitement of returning to campus and having the opportunity to see and reconnect with their friends/classmates FAR outweighed any hinderance caused by our health check process--which we made pretty accessible and easy to navigate. Although we only had about 50% of the pre-Covid turnout for this reunion, our attendance rate was great at over 81% of all registrants/guests.

I represent a DMO so we have assisted groups with setting up health checks at their events, but we have not had any requests for health checks in 2022.  For the most part, I have seen attendees take the health checks in stride.
