    Hello and welcome back to another Tip of the Week! This year we announced Cvent's newer, more modern reporting platform throughout your account following the sunset of our Legacy Reports. The New Reports are a complete revamp of the old reporting system where data is collected and displayed in a more visually appealing way. It also allows for data to be quickly manipulated and analyzed directly within the Cvent platform. You can even display reports in different languages, time zones, and locales (all of which are not available in Legacy Standard or Custom Reports). Now that you know how the New Reports have been updated, here are some useful tips to ensure you make the most out of them!

    Reporting on Your Event:
    • You can access event-level reports by going to your event and then to Reporting. Event reports are grouped by category, which helps you decide which report will have the information you need. A few examples of categories are Activity Reports, Common Reports, Email Reports, and Event Budget Reports amongst others.

    Running an Event Report:
    • You can run reports by customizing what data you want to see in your end report. You can also queue the report if you want to do other work while the report is running. Reports will only display data that was available when the report was initially run. Any data collected after will not display until you run the report again.
    • If you make a change to the standard report (example - changing the data, fields, filtering, etc.), you can save that report for future use, and next time when you need a report on the same filters, you can do it with ease
    • Once you have made the necessary changes to your report, you can save it to a portal or public webpage. Determine if everyone using the portal or public webpage will have access to the report or if only a select group will. Remember, you can set a content expiration date to ensure report content will no longer be visible to any users in the access portal after a certain time.

    Pulling All Registration Details in One Report in the New Experience: 

    •  If you are looking to pull in everything from contact details and travel requests to question responses, then the Invitee & Registrant Details report is the best place to start.
    • Always set the end date far into the future so data update every time the report is accessed.

      We have been able to do some great real-time monitoring thanks to these reporting features! Here are some examples attached using custom contact fields that we added to the registration report. The additional reports we really need are a Details report that exports ALL data from ALL surveys and records with each contact in a row AND more of these chart options in the survey reports.       I've been waiting on G/L codes in Cross Reporting since day 1. :(
      The fields are there, but no data.

      I would like to have the option of a reporting on Q&A questions when using the Attendee hub for multiple sessions.

      A complete report that pulls in different solutions data into one report.
      I would like to see more graphics in the dashboards if possible, some people are more visual.

      I haven't run any reports yet, but I am so glad that they have been upgraded, because there have been times where I was so frustrated that I couldn't create a report with the mix of fields I needed.

      • How has the new reporting system benefited you?
      • We have yet to use the new reporting system, but the enhancements noted in this post sound great and will go a long way to making reporting more efficient and help us capture key data from the event
      • Is there any other feature you would like to see within the new reporting system?
      • Another user noted the ability to pull attendee Q&A questions/responses, which would be a huge plus to capture event engagement as well as for purposes of follow-up

      I like new reporting, however since you have to use a template to start any custom reports, it would be nice to see what columns are pulled into the templates to determine which template would be best to start with.

      • The new reporting system has benefited me in the way that I can customise much more my reports including information I need and sharing the right information in a single report with others through the portal. 
      • I think having an easy way to export branded dashboards with the information of the reports will be very benefitial.

      Hi Megha, 

      We mostly love the new reporting and how granular we can get on some of the information. I just wish the titles of the templates were a bit more explicit, or maybe organized differently. Sometimes I have to run a bunch of them before I can figure out which ones even has access to the fields I need for customization. 

      Also love how they mesh with the Access Portal.

      • How has the new reporting system benefited you?
        • We have so many stakeholders who wanted to see reports, and the fact that they can securely create their own portal passwords for security management is great! 
      • Is there any other feature you would like to see within the new reporting system?
        • Would love for financial totals to be displayed at the bottom of exported reports (i.e. session reports used to have a feature to display this number)

      • How has the new reporting system benefited you?
        • The new reporting feature is MUCH more user friendly and allows for better real-time reporting and pulling the reports is faster. This has allowed for me people in my team to pull reports and quicker access of these report to other departments. So glad this feature has been more effective and efficient. 
      • Is there any other feature you would like to see within the new reporting system?
        • I would like to see all data from the event added to each contact and pulled in reports.

      • How has the new reporting system benefited you?
        • It creates a user friendly environment for our clients 
      • Is there any other feature you would like to see within the new reporting system?
        • Multiple layers of sorting information rather than just sorting by one field. 
      A struggle of ours is when exporting, it creates a table. It has taken a lot of time to explain how to covert the data to a range to our clients.
