  • 1.  Engagement with Virtual & Hybrid Events

    Posted 12-19-2022 11:00
We are back again this week to share our Huddle of the Week post! Virtual and hybrid events have proved to be impactful with a greater audience reach and more awareness opportunities. The 3 main elements of a successful virtual event include the technical and platform experience, opportunities for engagement, and content delivery experience. With hybrid events, you need to craft 2 experiences into a single event.

    Questions for you:
    • What do you think is the most important part of a virtual event?
    • Do you think hybrid events are the future?

    • What do you think is the most important part of a virtual event? Being organized and engaging. It's much easier for someone to 'X' out and leave a quickly disorganized online event then it is a live event
    • Do you think hybrid events are the future? I think to some degree. There's something exclusive about inperson only to draw people in when you need them but making items available vritual -- either real time or at a later session has its place

    • What do you think is the most important part of a virtual event? - The format and interaction between the presenter and audience. Virtual events can be very boring and flat - I lose interest and end up wasting time not absorbing the content. Good connection and AV support is a must - technical glitches are frustrating if there are too many
    • Do you think hybrid events are the future? - They will stick around but I don't think they will ever replace in person events. There is a time/place for them to supplement in person, but not in every situation.

    • What do you think is the most important part of a virtual event? Having engaging content and tactics. Providing breaks allows your attendees to stay focused on the content if they know there is a break soon. Keeping sessions shorter, and providing the recordings afterwards is also key to attract more attendees.
    • Do you think hybrid events are the future? While I think they are a part of the future, I don't think they are the answer to every event. Some events are better in virtual and some are better in person. Hybrid events are good for shorter duration conferences. They are also like planning two events in one, and sometimes create a lot more work.
