I know this has come up  before but it drives me crazy that I cannot see the status of an event on the Events page. Open or Closed. Not Upcoming and Completed which is obvious and useless.

Very much agree! 
What I want to see on my Events page is if it's open or closed (and a column showing the waitlists would be a nice addition - there is a lot of space on that page).

Hi! If you use the "Registration Status" column it will show you:

• No registration required
• Pending
• Active
• Closed
• Completed

I am able to create a custom view that includes the column 'Registration Status' (Pending, Active, Closed, No Registration Required). The capacity column is also available to add to a custom view. You can add up to 25 columns to your view and set it to be your default view, control which of your user groups can see it, etc. May not be exactly what you are looking for, but could be a slight improvement to your current view.

Creating a custom view is the way to go. I currently have 5 different custom views. 

• Current Event status by start date
• Events with gift donations
• Events excluding a unit (they a dozen of events each month we don't need to keep track of)
• Test Event
• Templates
