    Hi,

    Is there a way to have exhibitor registration without going through the Exhibitor Portal? We are using an external platform to manage the exhibits and having the registration going through Cvent exhibitor portal is confusing the exhibitors (they think they need to update their profiles etc). I remember years ago we were able to add company names with allotments and the vendor would select their company from a drop-down and register.

    I would love to know this as well. It was really confusing for our exhibitors when we tried it out and lots of people had trouble with it telling them their registration was complete when they tried to log back in with their confirmation number. I ended up having to do so much of it with them manually over the phone.

    Interesting!  I have never though to use the Exhibitor Portal as the registration tool for exhibitors.   I normally create normal registration paths for exhibitors, and often use Discount Codes with X number of allowances based on the booth purchase.   This has worked well, however it is only for the exhibitor attendees.  The booth package sales are handled in a different system and often directly by the client.

    Hi Colleen,

    Hope you are doing well!

    In regards to your query, Ms. Michele Runge has rightly suggested us the way to achieve what you need. 

    If you are using an external platform to manage the exhibits, you can utilize the registration feature within the event. The basic idea is to get the exhibitors registered for the event and later the planner can update those under the exhibitor management section. 

    If you like the idea, please follow the steps below:

    1. You can create a registration type as Booth staff/Exhibitors/ or anything of your choice.
    2. Create a separate registration path and assign the above mentioned registration type with this path.
    Note: Registration path to give your audience a different experience then others for e.g., if you have registration questions which you only want to ask you exhibitors.
    3. If needed a registration type specific weblink can be created and shared with the respective admin. for the exhibitors or you can let the audience choose 'who they are' using the registration type widget, depending upon the set-up of your event. 
    4. Once the registrations are received the planner ( I am assuming you) can go to Event > Exhibitor > Login as Exhibitor > Team > Add booth staff > Search attendee list > Enter email address > Check box in front of the name > Import selected.
