  • 1.  Registrant Being able to Register with same email multiple times

    We will need to be able to have certain registrants sign up in the event multiple times.  For instance, the first time they sign up may be for a kitchen manager position.  2 months later they may need to sign up for a general manager position.  However, when you go into register the individual if you put the same email it will not let you move forward with a confirmation number.  Is there any way to change this setting and bypass this?

    Jessica, there is a way to do it however it is not recommended.  Cvent has to flip it on their side at the Account Level.  Once multiple email addresses are allowed, it can not be reversed on the account.  One of my clients did it a decade ago and it requires continuous reviews for duplicate reservations in all of their events now.  Would be a good time to set up a call with your Cvent Account Specialist and see if they have other options on how to set up your event - maybe multiple events with account level reporting.    And if anyone out there knows if this feature can now be reversed, let me know!

    Hi Jessica,

    Hope you are well!

    If you have multiple events happening and you want the invitees to be able to register for these different events, you can either create separate events and let the invitees register for these separately. Or, you can create one event and create these as sessions in the event. So let's say you have around 5 different positions that you would want these invitees to sign up for throughout the year. You can create one event and create these positions as sessions. The invitee will have to register only once and they can select the sessions they want to apply for and later can modify their registration and apply for more positions.

    Hi Jessica,

    Do they have to keep the previous position? Because if not, the other option I can think of is to set the different positions as admission items. They register fthe first time, make the admission item selection and go through the rest of registration, then receive a confirmation code. When they need to change, they go in and modify their registration with that code, then change the admission item to the new position.

    I suppose this could also be done with registration types, but I think it might be smoother with admission items? And of course, if the original choice needs to be kept in addition to the new choice, then neither of these options will work. :(
